Absentee voting for recall elections begins


Absentee voting has begun for the recall elections this month.

Municipal clerks in Central Wisconsin are expecting a huge number of people to cast their absentee ballots.

There are races for governor, lieutenant governor, and several state senate seats across the state.

The city clerk in Wausau said people are eager to turn in their vote.

The Wausau clerk said in preparation for the number of people asking for ballots officials have had to make extra copies.

"We had people coming in at eight o'clock this morning, they are ready to go. People are eager to vote for this election," said Toni Rayala, City Clerk of Wausau.

The clerk also adds come election day she is expecting about 50 percent of people to come out and vote on June 5th.
