Marathon Park train to start 60th season with new look

Posted:

The Marathon Park Train will hit the track Friday, May 25th to kick off its 60th season of operation. According to a Marathon County Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department press release, the train received a paint job thanks to a generous donation by Mitzi Dolloff, in honor of her late husband Cliff Dolloff.  The train has been painted to resemble Milwaukee Road's North Woods Hiawatha passenger train that served Wausau in 1952.  Cliff Dolloff was a Milwaukee Road conductor for 40 years.

A dedication ceremony will be held Friday at 2pm.  Free train rides will follow until 8pm.

This starts the Marathon Junction season at the concession stand.
