AUBURNDALE (WAOW) -
Some heavy rains and winds passed through Wood County, causing some serious damage as a roof was ripped off. Most of the heavy rain passed fairly quickly, and the worst of the winds were just after 7 o'clock.
In Auburndale, those winds blew the roof off a mobile home in Prairie Meadow Park. The manager of those homes tells Newsline 9 that almost the entire roof is gone. But he says luckily no one lives there right now.
"There was about a week ago. There was a woman with three little kids and her husband. They moved about a week ago," Prairie Meadow Parks manager Robert Holmes said.
Holmes says the wind blew insulation everywhere. He says neighborhood children helped collect it and bring it all together.
The manager says he's not sure how much the damage will cost. But he says he's just glad no one is currently living there.
