Western Wisconsin was the first part of the state to feel the brunt of the storm.
At about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, a strong thunderstorm moved through the city of Eau Claire.
Many trees and power lines were toppled by strong winds. Also brought down by the storm, a 200 foot radio antenna.
Officials say just moments before the tower came crashing down, the power went out, knocking all seven radio stations in the building off the air.
Luckily, no injuries were reported during the strong thunderstorms.
Family members and friends gathered and remembered 39 year old Christopher Race Monday afternoon at First Congregational Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
