Community members honored fallen veterans in Wausau.
Many came out to Restlawn Memorial Park for a Memorial Day ceremony put on by the Wausau American Legion. Event organizers said they took the time to remember 89 local service members who lost their lives fighting for our freedom.
"I've had family members, my father, father-in-law, brother, a lot of family members that have been in the service and have passed away. A couple of them are here at Restlawn cemetery," said Paul Missett, member of Wausau American Legion.
Also, musicians played taps, and a 21-gun salute went off to honor fallen veterans at the ceremony.
