Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch has raised nearly $208,000 in recent weeks to defend her seat in next week's recall election.
Her campaign released fundraising numbers Tuesday covering the reporting period from April 24 to May 21. Kleefisch has raised a total of about $782,000 in 2012 and has nearly $32,000 cash on hand.
The Republican Kleefisch is being challenged by Democrat Mahlon Mitchell, a Fitchburg firefighter. He was expected to submit his own fundraising numbers by Tuesday's midnight deadline.
Kleefisch and Gov. Scott Walker both face recall elections. Wisconsin generally elects its governor and lieutenant governor as a pair, but due to recall laws the two offices will be filled with separate votes.
Kleefisch is the first lieutenant governor in the nation to ever face a recall.
