French journalist released in Colombia

SAN ISIDRO, Colombia (AP) -

A French journalist released to a humanitarian delegation by leftist rebels says he was treated well during a monthlong captivity that began when he was trapped in a firefight between guerrillas and government troops.

Romeo Langlois tells reporters he was never tied up and was well fed and treated with respect. He did not appear bothered by the wound to his left arm sustained in the firefight.

The commission that received the 35-year-old journalist Wednesday includes the International Red Cross, a French diplomat and a Colombian politician.

The handover was just a few miles from where Langlois was taken on April 28 while accompanying Colombian troops on a cocaine-lab destruction mission.
