Antigo school district employee charged with drug possession placed on unpaid leave

Posted:

Antigo school leaders placed a staff member under investigation for drug use on unpaid administrative leave.

According to a press release, the Unified School District of Antigo placed aquatic center director Jeff Neufeld on unpaid leave as the investigation into his conduct continues. In April Neufeld was placed on paid leave after being charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. Investigators say he admitted to buying pot from Scot Peterson, the former Antigo assistant football coach who's facing 25 felony drug charges.

The Antigo school district say it will make a decision about Neufeld's employment when the investigation is complete.

Several other former and current educators in Antigo and Merrill have been charged in the investigation.
