SUSSEX, Wis. (AP) -
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says the she and other governors are watching the Wisconsin recall race closely, to see whether voters will reward the courage that Gov. Scott Walker has shown.
Haley was in Sussex on Friday, four days before Walker faces a recall election. The recall stemmed from Walker's successful push to strip collective bargaining rights from most public workers.
Haley says Walker has shown the courage to make tough decisions. She says Americans like fighters who understand that even when the heat is on, they need to keep fighting.
She told several hundred workers at a Sussex printing plant that if Wisconsin voters have Walker's back, it would show governors like her that if they fight for voters, the voters will have their backs too.
