Drive through any community in north central Wisconsin and you are sure to see a few signs posted for garage sales. More and more cities and towns are also opting to hold community-wide events.
Kronenwetter is hosting one right now and it turns through Saturday. We drove over to check out some of the 80 homes taking part. There is everything: clothes, furniture, toys and even boats.
People we talked with say the sluggish economy helps drive the sales. With many people out of work or simply worried about the economy, there are plenty of frugal shoppers out there. Stacy Stenz held a garage sale and she also shops them. "Why buy new, when you can get something perfectly good at a garage sale?"
