National media descends on the Capitol

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The recall elections put Wisconsin in the national spotlight, and that means national media members are in town.

The CNN Election Express bus is parked at the State Capitol. It's a mobile bureau that has basically everything needed for a broadcast.

Producer Josh Rubin says, "Between communications with people, the different video signals we have coming in and everything that goes into making TV can be complicated. Having it all in one unit that people can sit and be comfortable in and just focus on the work, that makes for better television and for better journalism."

The bus was built for the 2008 presidential election. It travels around the country covering the biggest stories in politics.
