On June 2nd and 3rd the annual Children's Miracle Network telethon was held in Marshfield. This year's Miracle Children got the chance to share their story. One child was McKenzie Schuld.
Today, McKenzie Schuld is a healthy, eight-year-old girl, but she almost didn't make it into this world. She was born three months early, weighing only 1.8 lbs. For the first year of McKenzie's life, her family watched her condition closely.
"We had an oxygen machine she was hooked up to and that was what, 30 feet of hose I think we could get around the house with but that was life and she never went anywhere, people that were sick never came to our house, because you could never take that chance that she would develop some sort of cold or something like that, because she didn't have an immune system," McKenzie's mom shared.
The Children's Miracle Network received more than $693,000 in donations which will all stay in central Wisconsin to help sick and injured children and their families.
