Woman accused of stealing money from youth event pleaded no contest
MARSHFIELD (WAOW) -
A Marshfield woman accused of stealing close to $2,000 from a youth event entered a no contest plea today.
A Wood County judge ordered a 12-month probation period for Patti Poeschel.
Event leaders say Poeschel was volunteering at the concession stand for a Marshfield Youth Wrestling Tournament in March.
When asked what she was planning to do with the money, court records say she told officials she was planning on gambling with it in Las Vegas.
As part of her sentencing, Wood County Court officials say Poeschel must pay the court $300 plus court costs, serve 100 hours of community service, and she is not allowed to volunteer at any school event.
