UPDATE: Cause of death in SP pool drowning ruled accidental

7 July 2012 The Portage Co. coroner has ruled a June pool death an accidental drowning. Officials say that drugs were a contributing factor in his death.

Police say 25-year-old William Fawcett died just before 9 a.m. on June 10 at the Heritage Square Apartments in Stevens Point.

Coroner Scott Rifleman tells Newsline 9 Fawcett may have been incapacitated because of the drugs at the time of his death.

Stevens Point police say William Fawcett, 25, was found dead in a pool Sunday. It happened just before 9:00 a.m. in Heritage Square Apartment complex.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses. Officials say drugs may have been a factor but that is pending an autopsy, which was scheduled for Monday.

Police say the toxicology results will take a few weeks.
