College Board sets up 857 desks on National Mall

WASHINGTON DC (AP) -

The College Board is putting 857 empty schools desks on the National Mall in an attempt to get the presidential candidates and others running for public office to talk more about education.

College Board says the desks represent the number of students that drop out of school in the U.S. each hour of each school day. Representatives from College Board will be on the Mall Wednesday to discuss the campaign and pass around a petition for the presidential candidates.

Not all education experts agree that the topic should be a big part of the discussion at the federal level.

The demonstration kicks off a grassroots campaign called "Don't Forget Ed!" aimed at pushing candidates to discuss education.
