Some people woke up on Tuesday morning to a pretty scary scene. One Wausau family found a tree on top of their home when they looked outside this morning.
One person who lives said the storm sounded like a freight train. They heard a giant thud and found the tree resting on their roof.
"It was unbelievable because we just thought a part of the tree came and hit the roof," said Larry Jaeger, who lives in Wausau. "But we looked out and it tore out the whole root system."
Workers with the city of Wausau and Marathon County came to help with the clean up. Workers said they'll use the wood chips from the tree for water retention at Sylvan Hill.
