Jefferson Award winner recognized at national level

A woman who helps cheer up children in the hospital around Easter was honored in Washington, DC for her volunteer work.

Trista Dolphin of Wausau was selected locally as this year's winner of the Jefferson Award, which is sponsored by Newsline 9 and Marshfield Clinic.
She then moved on to the national level and was recognized with others from across the country.
The past four years, Dolphin and her family have handed out more than 1500 Easter baskets to children in hospitals and shelters.
Trista Dolphin: "We are blessed to do so many baskets because we have wonderful donation drives and candy wars that are put on by companies, communities and schools."
Dolphin did not win the top national award but she does hope to make an impact across the country by expanding her "Bunny Hop" program to all 50 states.
The attached video was provided by the Jefferson Awards and is Dolphin speaking about her Bunny Hop charity.
