Wood Co. crash leaves one person in critical condition
WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) -
One person is in critical condition after a crash in Wood County.
According to police, around 8:45 yesterday morning, a driver traveling westbound on Highway N went through a stop sign and T-boned another car. Officials say both cars went into the north-west ditch on Highway A, in the town of Richfield.
They say a power pole was hit, knocking out power in a four mile radius.
Police say all three were taken to Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Wood County Sheriff Department officials say the driver that went through the stop sign was given a citation. Hospital officials list her in fair condition.
Officials say the driver of the other car was treated and released. Her passenger, Kathleen Lasse is listed in critical condition.
Power was eventually restored to the homes. Police say they do not believe alcohol was a factor.
