Second Forrest Goetsch Memorial Run starts Saturday morning
Setup is underway for the second Forrest Goetsch Memorial Run.
The D-C Everest student died in 2009 after collapsing at a cross country meet. He was just 14-years-old.
The memorial run takes place Saturday, beginning at Dale's Weston Lanes.
Forrest's parents say they started the race because of a promise always remember their son.
"I don't think you ever truly overcome the complete loss of the loved one," said Steve Goetsch, Forrest's Father. "I think that's the hardest obstacle to overcome in life. but with all the people that surround you taking those positive steps forward helps each and every day for seeing a positive light of what Forrest meant to us."
The run starts Saturday morning at 9 a.m. You can register for the run at Dale's Weston Lanes.
Organizers say money raised stays in the community.
