Runners hit the pavement this morning, for the second annual
Forrest Goetsch run. The event honors a young boy who died after collapsing
during cross-country practice.
More than 800 people participated, in multiple walk/run
Organizers say they hope to raise more than $25,000. All the
money raised goes toward scholarships and other youth organizations.
Forrest's father says a race is the perfect way to celebrate
his son's life.
"Forrest was a runner. This is a great way to pay tribute to
what he loved and enjoyed. He was a very good runner, when he ran he kind of
floated," Steve Goetsch said.
Organizers say they hope to continue to grow the event each
