Fire damages homes part of Imagination Station

DETROIT (AP) -

Fire has heavily damaged a pair of vacant houses that are part of Detroit's Imagination Station

The Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News report organizers of the Detroit-based nonprofit are working to determine how to move forward following the Wednesday blaze.

No injuries were reported.

Co-founder Jerry Paffendorf says it was a blessing the artist-decorated homes didn't burn to the ground. Volunteers had worked for two years to improve the homes.
