LINCOLN COUNTY (WAOW) - A unique type of race took place Saturday at the Merrill school forest in Merrill.
The Stubborn Mule adventure race is a 30-hour event. It started at 6 Saturday morning and will end at noon on Sunday.
Teams have come from all over the country to compete. Competitors must use a map and a compass to navigate their way to different checkpoints, either by bike, on foot or by canoe.
Once they reach those checkpoints, they earn points and the team that earns the most points in the shortest amount of time will win the race.
