The heat is on for summer exercise

With a  heat advisory posted in Wisconsin, public health leaders advise you to use caution outdoors.

Doctors suggest you limit your activity outside. Dr. Christopher Pfaendtner of Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston suggests you use common sense." If it's really hot outside, you don't want to be outside for too long."

For those who want to get their exercise outside, this presents challenges. Experts say your best bet is to exercise during the morning hours. This allows you to get your workout in and avoid the hot, humid weather during the afternoon hours.

In Weston today, we found numerous people taking that advice, walking, running, biking and playing tennis. We talked with a few of them and all said that they drank plenty of water to stay hydrated.

By mid-morning, there were far fewer people outside as the heat and humidity kicked in.
