UPDATE: Power restored to much of the Northwoods


Strong winds and thunderstorms knocked out power to nearly 12,000 Wisconsin Public Service customers Wednesday night. 

Crews worked through the night, restoring power to about 10,000 customers by 5:00 a.m. Thursday. 

According to a press release from WPS, Eagle River was hit the hardest. 7,000 were without power Wednesday night.

Crews will continuing working to restore power Thursday. 300 are currently still without power.
