The hot temperatures earlier this week had air conditioners flying off the shelves at local appliance stores.
At Grebe's in Wausau, store owner Steven Rischetto said they sold more than 100 air conditioners in two days.
While the hot temps might have been uncomfortable for many, Rischetto says it was good for business.
"When you're on a July 4th week that's usually going to be a little bit slow because people are vacationing or doing other things. But, when you get a heat blast like this it definitely helps business pick up a little bit and we certainly got some business that we normally wouldn't have gotten if we had not had the air conditioners," Rischetto explained.
Owners say the rush has ended for now. But, if another heat waves comes our way they will be prepared.
