Administrator Todd Kuckkahn said Wednesday that no circumstances surrounding the death of Joey Miller were being released other than he died in school. St. Peter's is a Roman Catholic school. "We are shocked and saddened," Kuckkahn said. VILAS COUNTY (WAOW) -
Vilas County authorities are investigating a possible drowning on Fence Lake in Vilas County. They say a man's body was pulled from the water Saturday night. 46-year-old Gerald Ackley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency crews say someone discovered Ackley unresponsive and floating off shore on Fence Lake. They performed CPR to try and resuscitate him, but were unsuccessful.
An investigation into the death is being conducted by the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police Department and the Vilas County Coroner's Office.
