Woodchuck Win 5 straight, win 1-0 over Chinooks

With the number one record in the league, the Woodchucks would set up shop at Athletic Park for the final game against the Lakeshore Chinooks Tuesday night in their two game series.

Tuesday night was a pitcher's match, with one total run scored in the game, the Woodchucks would improve to five straight wins, and sweep the second team in the second half of the season. Woodchucks walk away error-less and with the 1-0 win.

The Woodchucks were able to score the first run of the ball game off of a deep fly ball to center field that rattled off the wall by Madison Carter, scoring Brad McKewon from first base in the bottom of the third inning.

The Woodchucks, along with the first lead of the game would also pick up their first two hits of the night after being blanked by pitcher Jason Hoppe.  Hoppe would go through seven and 2/3 innings, striking out 12 Woodchucks, allowing just one run and four hits in his outstanding performance Tuesday evening.

The Woodchucks would have a few impressive performances of their own on the defensive side. Unlike Monday night's error bursting night, the outfield showed off their skills, and proved that they can back up the team when needed. Both Gage Green, and Brad McKewon had very critical catches to save the ‘Chucks the go-ahead runs in the fourth inning.

In the eighth inning, Mike Bernal would make a barehanded play to prevent base runners in the eighth, and in total, the Woodchucks would not commit one error in the ball game, a huge improvement compared to Monday night's performance.

The game moved along quickly, with just one run scored Tuesday night in the two hour and 17 minute game as the Wisconsin Woodchucks continue their win streak, and improve to 5-0.

The Woodchucks will be back in action Wednesday night in Eau Claire, in anticipation to continue their win streak.
