Wausau East with new training program

Wausau East athletes have a new training program this summer.
The Lumberjacks have hired the Parisi Speed School to help their athletes improve their strength, speed and explosiveness.
The Parisi Speed School is a national training organization with a location in Merrill.
The school will also teach coaches techniques they're not accustomed to.
Parisi trainers will work with more than 100 East athletes; both boys and girls.
The program is two times a week for six weeks.

"Here at Wausau East, we're not really blessed with a lot of really big kids," said Wausau East football coach Steve Jung. "So the factor that we want to increase is our speed and athleticism.  We are limited in our size, and the one thing that we can definitely improve is our speed."

"It's going to help on our footwork, we'll be faster off the line, faster explosion," said Wausau East senior Graham Rindo.  "It's going to be easier to swivel the hips, get out there when guarding guys, making plays."
