It's day two of the Canoe Slalom World Championships, and athletes are paddling into the semifinals.
The five-day competition is taking place at Whitewater Park in Wausau. Around 200 athletes are participating from more than two dozen countries.
The final qualifying heats are wrapping up Thursday. The next round begins Friday.
Finn Butcher, an athlete from New Zealand, qualified for the semifinals. He said he's excited for his run.
"Kind of just getting myself in the zone really," said Butcher. "We've got demo runs tonight so we'll learn the course tonight and think about it in the morning and see what happens."
The semifinal runs get started Friday at 10:00 a.m. To see the complete schedule, visit http://www.2012wausau.com/.
