Four Wisconsin Woodchucks, Skyler Ewing, Brendon Hayden, Brooks Braga, and Jack Fischer, have been named to the Northwoods League's 2012 first half All-Star team.

Ewing (Rice University) leads the Woodchucks in home runs with five, and has been a key cog in the ‘Chucks line-up ever since arriving in Wausau. Ewing has posted a .329 batting average with eight doubles and 18 runs batted in. Ewing has played first base, designated hitter, and catcher, but will be the catcher for the South Division during the All Star game on July 24th in Madison.

Hayden (Virginia Tech) leads the Woodchucks with 27 RBI's. Hayden was selected as a first baseman, but he also plays third base and pitches for the ‘Chucks. This season, Hayden has a .331 batting average with 10 doubles and two home runs, including a grand slam against La Crosse on June 16th.

Braga (University of Wisconsin – La Crosse) has led the Woodchucks this season with both his bat and his glove. Braga has many times flashed his great range in center to track down would-be extra base hits. He has also batted leadoff for the ‘Chucks most of the season, posting a .317 batting average with 10 doubles, one triple, and one home run. Braga has scored the most runs in the Northwoods League – 39 – and is currently on pace to score 65 runs, which would break the Northwoods League all-time record of 61.

Fischer (Wake Forest) has been one of the Woodchucks' top starting pitchers this season. In Fischer's first two starts, he went a combined twelve innings without allowing an earned run. On the season, Fischer has amassed a 4-1 record with a stout 2.10 ERA in 30 innings pitched. In those 30 innings, Fischer has recorded 35 strikeouts compared to only eight walks.
