UPDATE: Name released in Town of Plover motorcycle crash

Portage County authorities say 22-year-old Jonas Marshall of Oshkosh died Sunday after being thrown from his motorcycle in the Town of Plover.

According to Portage County authorities, the crash happened on Highway 54 west just before 1:30 Sunday morning.

Investigators say Marshall was driving eastbound on 54 near Coolidge Avenue when he left the roadway and crashed into a mailbox. Marshall was thrown from the bike, which then burst into flames.

According to a press release, he died from his injuries at the scene.

Portage County Sheriff's Department officials say speed and alcohol were likely factors.
