Kronenwetter residents may pay to fix water problems
KRONENWETTER (WAOW) -
Homeowners in Kronenwetter may have to pay up, to lower the high ground water level because some people who live in the Village's Northeast side have experienced flooding.
The Village paid to have water pumped out of Golden Pond as a temporary fix, but now they're looking for something to permanently stop it.
The Village Board is meeting tomorrow night to finalize a plan to install a storm sewer pipe, but many homeowners say they don't want to pay.
"After a year of finishing the basement the basement got flooded so there's disappointment especially how my dad's unemployed," said Newchee Lor, a resident whose basement flooded.
"The Village Board is going to make this termination. and you know if they come tomorrow upset about things we just have to ask them to be courteous to all the other residents, let everyone get their chance to speak," said Kronenwetter Village Administrator Richard Downey.
The public meeting on this issue will take place tomorrow night at 6 at the Kronenwetter Municipal Center.
