Top Walker aide moving to jobs agency

Gov. Scott Walker is moving his deputy chief of staff into the number two position at Wisconsin's premiere economic development agency in an attempt to improve communication and recover from a flubbed tax break offer to a company bidding on a $15 million state contract.

Walker announced Wednesday that Ryan Murray would become chief operation officer at the year-old, semi-private Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation starting June 30. Murray will be second in command to Paul Jadin, who has the title of chief executive officer at WEDC.

Murray has been Walker's deputy chief of staff since September.

Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie says a large part of his job at WEDC will be working to improve communication between the agency and the governor's office and others in state government.
