This image of a cougar in Buffalo County was captured by a trail camera. According to the Department of Natural Resources, the photo was taken sometime after dark Saturday.

A DNR biologist said the cougar may show up again since there are many trail cameras in Buffalo County.

According to the DNR, this is the second cougar sighting in Wisconsin this year. The other sighting occurred near Crandon in March. At least six male cougars have shown up in Wisconsin since 2008, the DNR reports, but cougars are not believed to be breeding in the state.
