Sharon Ryan is the creator of the Dream Flight USA space education program. The project travels to schools and community events to provide hands-on learning about space, aviation and science. www.dreamflightusa.com
On this 43rd anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon, and the first moonwalk by men, Ryan is reminded of the many advancements made by the space program. "We have made great strides in transportation, medicine, science and other technologies. Through the Apollo era and into shuttle missions so many things have changed. All of these will be used as we move to the next chapter, the International Space Station."
Ryan and Dream Flight's "Spirit of Education" shuttle/space station experience will travel to the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture at Wittman Field in Oshkosh. She says they hold twice daily sessions for students. The EAA event runs July 23-29. www.airventure.org
