Hunters hoping to participate in Wisconsin's first wolf hunting season must apply for a permit.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says hunters and trappers can apply for a permit between August 1 through August 31.

Permits cost $10.

You can find out where to get a license application by clicking here. You can also find apply for a license online through the DNR or by calling 1-877-945-4236.

According to a press release from the DNR, wolf permits will be awarded by random choice in a drawing that will be held shortly after the close of the permit application window.

The wolf season will be October 15 through February 28, 2013.
