The family of late Cuban dissident Oswaldo Paya is casting doubt on the official report of the car crash that killed him.
Ofelia Acevedo is Paya's widow. She says friends who were at the hospital in eastern Cuba after the July 22 crash in eastern Cuba overheard a policeman talking about a red car that was at the crash scene.
Acevedo says she has been told the red car's occupants made the emergency call and she's wondering why there's no mention of it in the official report.
She also says she has not been able to talk to the two Europeans who survived the crash.
Acevedo spoke Wednesday to reporters at her home in Havana.
She asked the international community for help with an independent investigation.
