Update: 9 injured in Wisconsin Rapids crash


Wisconsin Rapids police say nine people were hurt in a crash on Highway 13 Friday morning.

The crash on the city's north side happened around 9:20 a.m.

Authorities say a 84-year-old man tried to turn left, but did not yield to another vehicle.

Seven of the nine people injured were taken to the hospital. They range in age from seven to 62.

Information on their conditions is not yet available.

Police tell us the man in the car was not taken to the hospital.

Traffic in the area was blocked for about 45 minutes.

The crash is still under investigation.

There was another crash at West Grand Street and Canal Street in Wisconsin Rapids  at 10:10 a.m. Friday.

Officers say one person was sent to the hospital but has been released. 

Investigators say a 24-year-old driver did not stop for another car.

Police tell us the driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way while making left turn, operating without insurance, and an 11th offense of driving after suspension.
