The hot ticket in Wausau this week is the Wisconsin Valley Fair. People are packing the fairgrounds for food and family fun this week. And there's definitely a lot to see and do on and around the midway.
Many come out to check out the rides or eat the fair food. There are also animals and displays set up in the exhibition barns. Over the past few days, grand stand shows -- featuring the Oak Ridge Boys and REO Speedwagon -- drew in big crowds. Fair organizers are pleased with the turnout so far.
"We'll probably stay right at about normal attendance which is 150,000, if we get more than that we are grateful for that," said Wisconsin Valley Fair administrator Maria Budnik.
Organizers hope for cooler weather, which tends to bring more people out.
