PLOVER (WAOW) -
While current Packers players took to the field for Family
Night, a former Packer was in our area promoting his new business venture.
But for William Henderson, what's life like after football?
"I've been able to enjoy all this state has to offer and
hopefully support this state like it's supported me," Henderson said.
Five years ago, Henderson was making big hits on the football
field. Now, he's transitioning to the business world, as a franchise owner of
Sweet Frog, a new frozen yogurt shop in Plover.
"I don't want to be just a business person, I want to be a
part of the community throughout Wisconsin," Henderson said.
But of all the options for life after football, why frozen
yogurt?
"This is another opportunity for me to have fun, doing what
I love, that's help families find a little piece and pleasure and something
simple," Henderson told Newsline 9.
Henderson says his time in the NFL prepared him for this
chapter of his life.
"Understanding business, understanding responsibility of
being on the team, being attentive, having a product people want. That's what I
was as a Packer," Henderson said.
But no matter where he goes, Henderson says he will always
be a cheesehead.
"I'm never leaving my family, this is my home," Henderson
said.
And even though he's no longer on the field, Henderson says
he's looking forward to this season.
