New school administrator travels thousands of miles for the job

In a way, the new administrator at Faith Christian Academy in Wausau is coming home.

Dave Wysong, his wife, and his children have lived in Ukraine for the past 13 years. He worked as the administrator at Kiev Christian Academy. But now, his family has moved to central Wisconsin—a place they're familiar with.

"My wife is from Wausau," said Wysong.

Wysong is taking over as head of Faith Christian Academy, a school with around 100 students K thru 12. He says his experience in Ukraine will help him in this new chapter of life.

"It was a broadening experience to work at a more international school where there was a broader demographic of students from many different countries," said Wysong.

But, moving back to Wisconsin, there have been some adjustments. Kiev is a city of several million people. Wausau is a little smaller. But Wysong says that's been nice.

"I've just enjoyed having life slow down a little bit," he said.

Now, as Wysong gets settled into his new office, he's getting ready for a new group of students. School starts September 4, and Wysong says he's excited for what's ahead.

"We're looking forward to a great year and excited about Faith Christian Academy and what God has in store for us," he said.
