Paul Ryan: No comment on VP possibility

WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) -

Republican Congressman Paul Ryan stopped in Central Wisconsin today, but refused to comment on the possibility of his possible selection as Mitt Romney's running mate.

Ryan traveled to Wisconsin Rapids for a fundraising event for Scott Krug, who is running for the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Some members of the national media have been following Ryan, waiting for word on Romney's potential vice presidential candidate.

"Nope," Ryan told a Newsline 9 reporter when she brought up the subject.

Other possible VP picks include Ohio Sen. Rob Portman and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

On Wednesday in Michigan, reporters grilled Pawlenty about his chances. He replied, "It does create a little bit of a stir or distraction from other things, but that will soon all resolve as he makes his choice in the coming days or weeks."
