2 men missing in Lake Michigan near Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN (AP) -

Two men are missing after high winds and large waves swept people into Lake Michigan near Sheboygan.

Police say three people were swept off the breakwall and into the water off North Pier on Friday.

A 38-year-old Sheboygan woman was rescued. Two Sheboygan men -- ages 21 and 37 -- were still missing Friday evening. The Sheboygan County sheriff's office says the search was suspended for the night because of weather conditions and will continue Saturday, depending on the weather.

Police also helped two women get off the pier.

The Sheboygan Press reports the U.S. Coast Guard, dive crews and other emergency personnel were called to the scene shortly before 3:30 p.m. to search for the two men.

People were cleared from the pier because of windy conditions.
