Wisconsin politicians react to Romney's announcement

Local republican leaders are speaking out about Mitt Romney's announcement that Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan will be his running mate.

On Saturday, Congressman Sean Duffy made a stop in Wausau. He says he fully supports Governor Romney's choice, adding Paul Ryan is the best pick for vice president.

"I think it means that Gov Romney is ready to go big and provide bold leadership for this country," Rep. Duffy said. "We have a 16 trillion dollar deficit, we need people that are willing to put out plans and get bold leadership to solve the problems that we face. Paul Ryan has done that and I think the Governor wants to do that as well."

But, Duffy's challenger, democrat Pat Kreitlow doesn't agree. Kreitlow also made a stop in Wausau on Saturday. He says Ryan's plan to balance the budget is too extreme and a hit to middle class America.

"It's fine that Gov Romney wants to show people exactly where the ticket stands and the ticket stand with the wrong priorities for Wisconsin and the middle class," Kreitlow said.

Kreitlow and Duffy will face off in the November election for the spot of 7th congressional district representative.
