Baldwin challenges Republican U.S. Senate nominee to debates
WAUSAU (WAOW) -
The primary election is underway. One of the hottest races is the Republican contest for U.S. Senate. Four candidates are seeking the nomination including Jeff Fitzgerald, Eric Hovde, Mark Neumann, and Tommy Thompson.
The winner of the Republican primary will face the Democratic candidate, Tammy Baldwin, in November.
Baldwin is currently a member of Congress representing Wisconsin's 2nd District.
She has challenged the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate to join her in accepting three general election debates.
"Tonight, Republican primary voters will present Wisconsin with a clear choice for the November election. So today I am challenging the winner of the Republican Primary to three statewide debates," Baldwin said, "This election is a choice, and providing the people of Wisconsin with an honest debate of the issues is what they deserve."
