Spencer volleyball motivated after state finals loss
The Spencer volleyball team is entering this season with a chip on its shoulder. The Rockets came within a point of the Division 3 state title last season. The girls have been extremely competitive in camp this month, as they all hope to make a squad that could return to the Resch Center for the state tournament. Spencer has lost seven seniors from that title game team, but will have loads of height and experience returning.
"Because of what we did last year, even the younger kids are ready to play up at that level," said Rockets senior Alicia Endreas. "They are pushing themselves harder so that one day they can get up to that level too." "Coming up short last year just makes me want it even more this year," said Spencer junior Tynae Phillips. "It's still the dream and you still want to keep pushing for it." "The motivation comes down to a lot of the teammates, we have a few main leaders and we decide to motivate a lot of the team," said Spencer senior Paige Johnson.
