Saturday sports report - 08/18/12

The fall sports season is slowly picking up steam. Saturday, Rhinelander was the site of a soccer invitational.

Pacelli played to a 1-1 tie against Iron Mountain.  Lucas Molski scored the Cardinals' only goal near the end of the first half off an indirect free kick. 

SPASH was part of the tournament as well, but the Panthers played to a scoreless draw against Kingsford. 

Mosinee soccer took on McDonell Central in Mosinee.  The Indians won 5-1, the only goal allowed off a hand ball in the area and ensuing penalty kick in the first half.

DC Everest hosted a tennis tournament on Saturday, Antigo tied with Chaska to win the tournament with 25 points.  The host Evergreens were runners-up with 24 points, followed by Lakeland, Medford and Shawano.
