Wisconsin tops the nation in cheese making, again. The Badger state produces about one quarter of all the cheese made in this country. In June 227 million pounds of cheese were made in our state -- beating out California for the title.
Mullins Cheese is the biggest family owned cheese factory in Wisconsin. It has plants in Knowlton, near Mosinee and Marshfield. Company leaders are pleased to see the state take top honors. Bill Mullins commented, "It is really competitive with the others states. This a big victory for our cheese making plants and dairy producers."
