Person of interest named in Stephanie Low case

There are major new developments in the case of a missing Wausau woman.

Wausau police have confirmed to Newsline 9 there is now a person of interest in the case.

Kristopher Torgerson, 32, is currently being held in the Marathon County Jail on an unrelated matter. But police say he has been named a person of interest in the disappearance of Stephanie Low.

According to a news release, Torgerson was an acquaintance of Low at the time of her disappearance. Low went missing from her Wausau apartment in October 2010. Days after her disappearance, police say they brought Torgerson in for questioning. They say they've recently received more information leading them to name Torgerson as a person of interest in this case.

Family members of Stephanie Low tell Newsline 9 they've been meeting with police during the past week about these new details. The Marathon County district attorney says no charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about Low's disappearance is asked to call the Wausau Police Department.
