Local Livestrong program moves forward

Despite the controversy surrounding Lance Armstrong and allegations of doping, the Woodson YMCA in Wausau says the Livestrong program at its two branches, remains strong.

Armstrong is a cancer survivor. He founded Livestrong in 1997. The foundation has raised 325 million dollars and helps people around the globe living with cancer.

Bryan Bailey, Woodson Executive Director says, "This is a solid program. It brings together people who are in the same situation. They have someone they can lean on. It is a chance to work with our staff twice a week for 12 weeks on basic exercise."

A session is expected to start the second week in September.
